GLOBE and Transgender Victoria partner to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility

To celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV), GLOBE, the leading LGBTI Community organisation enabling Victorian LGBTI professionals and small businesses to thrive, has partnered with Transgender Victoria to create a series of short videos of prominent community leaders to share their thoughts on TDOV and what visibility means to them.  The videos will form part of Transgender Victoria’s TDOV campaign, titled Be seen.

President of GLOBE, Dan de Rochefort said: “TDOV is so incredibly important to the LGBTI community, as it provides our vibrant trans and gender diverse friends with a platform to share their stories with us and to say, I’m here and I’m important.  We have been privileged to collaborate with Transgender Victoria as part of their Be Seen campaign.  Through the collaboration we have been able to connect with some incredible trans and gender diverse people through our partnership with Transgender Victoria, including 2016 Victorian Young Australian of the Year nominee, Margot Fink.  Margot filmed and edited the video series.  She is an incredible talent.”

GLOBE recently announced a series of appointments to its Committee of Management that would see the 26 year old organisation increase its efforts to foster a greater relationship with the Trans and Gender Diverse community.

These appointments include Michelle Sheppard as LBTI Consultant.  In addition to consulting on trans and gender diverse matters for GLOBE and speaking about her journey at a series of Corporate and Community events, Sheppard established the Victorian Fitted for Work program that assists transgender women and gender diverse jobseekers overcome barriers to employment.
