GLOBE Victoria’s 2021 Community Awards nominations now open

GLOBE Victoria is excited to announce that the 2021 GLOBE Community Awards program is now open and accepting nominations for this year’s awards.

First held in 2014, the GLOBE Community Awards recognise the inspiring people and organisations that work to benefit LGBTIQ+ people. The GLOBE Awards are an annual celebration of achievement in Victoria’s LGBTIQ+ communities, highlighting the work of a diverse range of organisations and individuals that benefit and unite our communities.

To date, GLOBE Victoria has awarded 75 Victorian individuals and organisations, hosted more than 2,700 LGBTIQ+ individuals and allies at their award ceremonies, and generated more than $140,000 that has been reinvested into the community through the GLOBE Community Grants Program.

According to GLOBE President, Megan Williams, “Our dedicated and passionate team of volunteers are working tirelessly to create an amazing event where we can all come together to recognise and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the incredible organisations and individuals whose work benefits and unites our wonderful LGBTIQ+ communities”.

The 2021 GLOBE Community Awards will be presented at a gala dinner awards celebration on Friday 15 October. This year’s awards event will be hosted at The Plaza Ballroom, one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues, located in the heart of Collins Street at the famous Regent Theatre. Ticket sales will open soon for this year’s much-anticipated event, where once again GLOBE will bring the LGBTIQ+ community together under the one roof to celebrate the hard work and achievements of so many in our community.

The full list of categories is provided below, including a new category that has been added from this year.
Nominations are open until 11.59 pm on Monday 16 August 2021.
