GLOBE Victoria announces 2021 Community Awards finalists

GLOBE Victoria is delighted to announce the finalists for this year’s GLOBE Community Awards.

First held in 2014, the GLOBE Community Awards recognise the inspiring people and organisations that work to benefit LGBTIQ+ people. The GLOBE Awards are an annual celebration of achievement in Victoria’s LGBTIQ+ communities, highlighting the work of a diverse range of organisations and individuals that benefit and unite our communities.

According to GLOBE President, Megan Williams, “The GLOBE Community Awards celebration is the highlight of GLOBE Victoria’s busy events calendar. We’re so looking forward to bringing the LGBTIQ+ community together, to recognise and celebrate the dedication and achievements of the incredible people who work so tirelessly for our wonderful LGBTIQ+ communities.

“We hosted the 2020 Community Awards online, which was wonderful, but we’re so excited for everyone to come together again under the one roof with an in-person celebration for our 2021 Community Awards.”

Originally planned to take place mid-October this year, the 2021 GLOBE Community Awards will be presented at a gala dinner celebration on Friday 11 February 2022. The 2021 Awards event will be hosted at The Plaza Ballroom, one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues, in the heart of Collins Street at the famous Regent Theatre.

This year’s inspiring finalists were selected from an impressive group of nominees submitted by the community. The full list of finalists across the 11 award categories is provided on page two, including a new category added this year: Transgender Inclusion
