Optus becomes the inaugural Principal Partner of GLOBE

GLOBE officially celebrated its first ever principal partnership with Optus, at the July GLOBE Networking event at Sofitel Melbourne last night, bringing together members and friends of the LGBTI community to network and build professional relationships.

As GLOBE’s first and only principal partner, Optus will provide funding and support to the not-for-profit community group.

Optus’ National Manager of Experience and Culture, Andrew Parker said, “Optus became GLOBE’s first National Corporate Member in 2015, and we’re proud to continue celebrating diversity and championing one of Victoria’s most prominent LGBTQI+ community organisations through our expanded partnership.”

Optus’ support of organisations such as GLOBE is also a key component of its Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.

“Optus demonstrates a long-standing commitment to diversity and inclusion in our workplace, and our partnership with GLOBE will enable us to enrich the range of workplace diversity initiatives we offer to our LGBTIQ+ employees and their allies,” Mr Parker said.

GLOBE is a not-for-profit community organisation, based in Victoria, that welcomes LGBTIQ+ individuals, businesses, community groups and their supporters to engage and develop their interests through social, professional and community events, encouraging diversity and inclusiveness.

GLOBE President, Dan de Rochefort said, “We’re excited that Optus has expanded its support of GLOBE and the Victorian LGBTQI+ community by becoming GLOBE’s first Principal Partner”.

“Optus’ support has enabled us to strengthen our digital offering for small business members, and extend our support to LGBTQI+ owned and/or operated small businesses through our GLOBE Growth program, which promotes knowledge sharing by our Australian corporate partners, including Optus, with small business owners,” Mr de Rochefort said.

Through this partnership, Optus also supports the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Association (SGLBA) and the Brisbane Pride Business Network (GLBN).
