Recently one of our small business members, Tony Osman, from Grandview Cleaning and Maintenance and whom project had been benefited with our Small business grant in 2019, shared with us their success story. Which all took place thanks to their time taking part in our GLOBE Networking sessions.
“Dear GLOBE,
I have been a member of Globe now for a couple of years. I joined to connect with likeminded business associates. I was looking for an insurance broker when my business insurances were about to expire. I thought I would have a look at the Globe community business network, and I found Scott Wilford from Holistic Insurance.
I called Scott and we had a great conversation. Now Scott is looking after me with all my business and home insurance needs. Thanks Scott.
We stayed connected and was invited to a lot of networking events. It was great to have a wine and mingle with great people and the networking group provided a special speaker. Due to Covid-19 pandemic these unfortunately became online and I’m really looking forward to catching up with people live again soon. I am still interested in talking to the web SEO people in the not too distance near future to promote my business further.
As a cleaning company, I was looking for some more jobs. I have had some other globe members ask me for quotations for cleaning, however, some of the cleaning jobs have been on the other side of town. A bit too far to travel as we focus on the CBD and south eastern suburbs.
I gave Scott a call and asked if he knew anyone in the LGBTIQ+ family looking for a professional cleaning company. “Yes, there is!!”, he replied. He introduced me to Lee Maher.
Lee is a property manager of a very large property portfolio. I called Lee and made an appointment and we met onsite at a three-apartment building complex consisting of 300 apartments in the city which needed some attention. Now Lee is my biggest client, and I am enjoying being the building manager of the three buildings.
This would not have happened if I did not join the Globe business network community. I have already referred accountants to other accountants in the community wanting to sell their practices.
If I was a LGBTIQ+ family member wanting to promote and expand their business I would recommend becoming a Globe member as soon as you can. The benefits are very rewarding.
